About the Founder
Karen Jooste is the Founder of Daughters International. She was born and raised in South Africa. Her passion is creating possibility in the lives of women so that they can live powerfully and joyfully and strengthen their societies. Her calling is to help people fulfill the highest expression of themselves and be vibrantly well.
Karen is a Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from The Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, New York City and a Certificate of Global Health from the Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh. She is based in the US, in Chapel Hill, with her husband and four children, two rambunctious dogs and a Persian cat named Jasmine.
